Health Facts Monday – Calories Face-Off: Starbucks VS. McDonald’s

starbucks vs mcdonalds

Last week on “Health Facts Monday”, we compared the calories of food between Starbucks and Tim Hortons.  Due to the success of last week, I will continue this calories face-off with Starbuck versus McDonalds.  Even though Starbucks is a coffee shop and McDonalds is a fast food restaurant, they are both food chains.  More importantly, the quality of some of the menu items in McDonalds can be compared with Starbucks.  Hahaha…this is going to be interesting.

1) Breakfast (Starbucks WINS!)

2) Sandwich and Wraps (McD WINS!!)

OMG! Really? McDonald’s food are healthier than Starbucks?  I guess for certain items McDonald’s do have an edge in terms of calories.  However, they are still serving their Big Mac or Double Big Mac that have 540 calories or 700 calories, respectively.  All I can say is eat wisely and “do not judge the book by its cover” (some McDonald’s food have less calories than Starbucks even though McDonald’s market themselves as a fast food restaurant).

Do you like eating at McDonald’s? What do/do not like about McDonald’s?  Post your comments below. Till next time.

  1. I only go to Starbucks for coffee and I’m just conscious of what I order. I either get soy lattes or regular coffee with just a bit of half n half. I used to get frappuccinos all the time but my new found lack of metabolism won’t let me anymore 😦

    • As of frappuccino, I only like their Mocha Cookie Crunble Frappacino. I only go to Starbucks to reward my week of hardwork. I have seen people ordering Cheese and Fruit Bistro Box I am wondering why go to Starbucks for that instead of prepping your own.
