Bonus Healthy Recipe: Energy-Boosting Smoothie (1 Serving)

Every time I exercised, I felt like my energy were drained.

Therefore, I was doing some research and found this recipe.  This recipe apparently is what Dr. Oz recommended for boosting your energy.

Luckily, I have all the ingredients at home so I figured I gave it a try:

1/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

2 tablespoons peanut butter

3/4 cup 0% plain yogurt

1 banana

1/2 cup crushed ice

1) Put crushed ice, chocolate chips, peanut butter, and yogurt in the blender and blend until everything is fully incorporated.

2) Break the banana in pieces and put the pieces in the blend and blend until everything is fully incorporated.

3) Serve when ready.

I guess this smoothie is energy-boosting because chocolate is high in flavonoids, a natural health-promoting substance that provided needed energy boost.

Also, peanut butter contains unsaturated or “good” fat to calm our craving for food.

Lastly, banana contains tons of potassium, which is beneficial for your heart.

Ultimately, this smoothie is great for people who loves chocolate and peanut butter but want to eat healthy at the same time.  Sorry for anyone with peanut allergies!
